Global Crossing adds WAN Optimization Capabilities to Services

Global Crossing's managed network services has added support for WAN optimization capabilities, based on gear from Juniper Networks.

Managed WAN optimization services are used by multinational enterprises that need to connect locations where bandwidth is costly. According to this Network World report, is adding WAN optimization capabilities to its portfolio of managed network services.


Managed WAN optimization services have been introduced over the past several years as a way for enterprises to make the most of tail circuits in their business locations where bandwidth is precious – usually both expensive and requiring long lead times to procure. By adding its managed WAN optimization service to its list of managed network services, Global Crossing gives enterprise customers a way to serve those hard-to-reach locations more efficiently, keeping network performance higher while keeping down costs,” Washburn wrote in a research brief published this week. Global Crossing also announced that its managed IP services will now support Juniper’s routing equipment, including the J Series services routers, M Series multi-service edge routers, and SRX Series services gateways.
