Enterasys has enhanced its HiPath Software. HiPath Wireless Version 7 enhancements, according to the company in its news release, simplify wireless connectivity by reducing IT administrative workload and operational costs. As noted in the release on Market Watch, the software automates connectivity tasks, streamlines network management procedures, consolidates IT security functions and boosts overall 802.11n performance.

"'We are excited by the latest features offered by Enterasys with this release,' said Phil Komarny, CIO of Seton Hill University. 'HiPath's Centralized Policy Manager, when combined with guest access, enables us to keep up with growing demand for wireless access from both students and faculty. And, the educational experience is improved for all as wireless services and mobile applications are available across the campus. Streamlining our IT operations with Enterasys' unified wired/wireless management has the added value of reducing costs and better protecting our network.'

" With the release of HiPath Version 7, IT administrators can now dynamically assign traffic forwarding rules for users and groups, limit data flows and control admission on a per user and per SSID basis. This maximizes network performance and the user experience by automatically ensuring appropriate bandwidth, traffic priority and quality of service by user and application."
