Cisco to Dump HP?

According to the to the blogosphere, a Cisco memo indicates the company plans to break-up and end the relationship with HP.

A new report on SiliconANGLE says that an internal Cisco memo says the company will dump HP as a certified partner. At the same time, HP has made a move to join forces with QLogic for stackable switches.


"The data center is a battleground for new models. In particular one that is very trendy right now is the optimization of components in the data center to construct a data center operating system.

"HP Labs is doing some amazing research in sustainable data centers and companies like HP, Cisco, and Juniper are vying to be a complete player in this 'new datacenter operating system'.

"Pradeep Sindhu, founder of Juniper Networks, was just talking about this trend of the data center being a complete system last night at Mobile World Congress. Going further firms that take a complete systems view of a data center are poised to be more innovative says Pradeep."
