"Sessions at the conference discussed technology infrastructure and hurdles to the emergence of a Future Internet. Martin Curley, who directs Intel ( INTC - news - people ) Labs Europe, led a session on business models that showed the importance of the Future Internet in practical terms. Curley pointed out that business models are the way that strategy is translated into specific business processes. The current and Future Internet is the platform for execution of those processes.

"The questions that investors, entrepreneurs and customers are facing now include: Who will be setting the rules for this platform? What will be possible? What will be prohibited?"
