Emulex Corporation has announced that its single-chip OneConnect Universal Converged Network Adapters (UCNAs) have been selected by Dell for 10Gb/s iSCSI1 and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) converged connectivity and are available across Dell PowerEdge rack and blade servers. According to the company's latest news release, Emulex OneConnect UCNAs support efficient enterprise by enabling consolidation of network and storage infrastructures without changing management domains, allowing customers to benefit from increased consolidation and reduced hardware costs.

"'Dell and Emulex are working together to make Ethernet-based network convergence a reality with solutions that are easy to deploy, use and manage,' said Steve Daheb, chief marketing officer and senior vice president of business development, Emulex. 'The increased performance of 10Gb/s iSCSI over 1Gb/s iSCSI and the hardware offload support that Emulex's OneConnect iSCSI UCNAs offer allow end users to get the most out of their Dell iSCSI infrastructure, resulting in increased data center consolidation, virtualization and operational efficiency.'"
