Quest Software, Inc. has announced the availability of Foglight Network Management System (NMS), made possible by the acquisition of PacketTrap Networks. According to the company's news release Foglight NMS reduces the cost and complexity of multiple monitoring and management tools that are purchased, used, and maintained by different IT teams.

"Foglight NMS auto-discovers metrics for network resources – including hardware, operating systems, virtual infrastructure, databases, middleware, applications, and services – and provides in-depth visibility through a user-friendly interface. Comprehensive reporting, customizable dashboards, automated corrective actions and alerts, and remote agents enable IT teams to resolve issues more quickly while reducing the amount of time wasted on sudden network issues and manual remediation."
