Gigamon Announces Bypass Switch for Improved Network Uptime
The company claims its bypass tap offers non-intrusive access for network appliance security and monitoring.
Gigamon has announced its new Bypass Tap that the company says will provide non-intrusive access for active in-line network security and monitoring appliances. According to the company in its news release, the module is designed to work with the GigaVUE-420 Data Access Switch.
"With deployments of active and in-line network security and monitoring devices such as Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), firewalls, VPN gateways and in-line Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) appliances, the risk of tool failure presents risk to network connectivity. Gigamons Bypass Tap allows the appliance to perform directly in-line and eliminates that risk to the network. The Bypass Tap protects the network link from appliance failure."
