SonicWALL Firmware and Firewall Platforms Certified for IPv6

SonicOS 5.5.1 for the company's Network Security Appliance (NSA) firewall platform has successfully completed Phase One and Phase Two of testing.

SonicWALL has announced that the SonicOS 5.5.1, for its Network Security Appliance (NSA) firewall platform, has been certified as Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) Ready by the IPv6 Forum. According to the company's news release, with the accreditation, SonicWALL has successfully completed Phase One and Phase Two of testing and provides comprehensive interoperability with other certified IPv6 appliances.


"Specific SonicWALL platforms that are now IPv6 Ready are the E7500, E6500, E5500, NSA 5000, NSA 4500, NSA 3500, NSA 2400 and NSA 240. Coupled with the recent Common Criteria EAL4+ certification, the IPv6 certification underscores SonicWALL's continued commitment to develop world-class products that meet the current and future security needs of enterprises and governmental agencies. With SonicWALL's IPv6 Ready platforms, users benefit from fully configurable access rules, advanced threat detection and prevention enabled by SonicWALL's pioneering Reassembly-Free Deep Packet Inspection (RFDPI) engine and enhanced denial of service (DOS) prevention."
