SolarWinds Launches Orion Failover Engine

Orion FoE monitors the health of Orion servers to ensure visibility into the performance of IT environment is never lost.

SolarWinds has announced the latest addition to its Orion Scalability Engines, Orion Failover Engine (FoE). According to this Market Watch news release, Orion Scalability Engines enable IT teams to scale the network management capabilities of Orion as their network grows and needs change.


"Organizations rely heavily on their network management systems to provide availability metrics for critical applications and network performance to ensure the daily operations of their business. If something should happen to a user's primary Orion server, Orion FoE automatically provides a two-minute failover to a remote server to ensure that there is no interruption network performance visibility. The passive failover server assumes the full identity of the Orion server and assumes all monitoring, alerting, reporting, and data collection responsibility."
