In an attempt to minimize the risk of information theft and cyber-terrorism attacks due to their inability to trace end users, Cyberoam, a division of Elitecore Technologies, has launched a series of wireless network security appliances. As reported on Silicon India, these appliances come with an in-built wireless access point featuring 802.11 n/b/g standards, MIMO technology and support for up to eight virtual access points and will reduce the overall cost in managing Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) environments for Small- Medium Business with up to 50 users which involve WI-FI routers and firewalls.

"According to the VP-Product Management, and Cyberoam, Abhilash Sonwane, Organizations are usually comfortable securing their wired networks; however, they can be oblivious to the threats posed by wireless networks. For instance, as when providing Internet access to guest users, a common pre-shared key is used for authentication, a technique which lacks identity-based controls. The appliances deliver the entire battery of UTM security features over WLAN for protecting home offices, remote offices as well as public Internet access outlets.
