As reported on Market Watch, Blue Coat Systems, Inc.(BCSI) announced that its Chief Scientist and noted IPv6 author and expert, Qing Li, will present at the Australian IPv6 Summit. The presentation is entitled 'Secure Transition and Application Security Enforcement with IPv6 Secure Web Gateway' and covers Internet security implications of the transition to IPv6.
"'In today's complex world of Web-based dynamic content and applications and interconnected networks, Web threats exist in both IPv4 and IPv6 environments, but IPv6 deployments can result in additional covert channels,' said Qing Li, chief scientist, Blue Coat Systems. 'An IPv6-capable Secure Web Gateway that can provide dynamic content rating, malware protection and data leak prevention is required to consistently enforce access policies, ensure safe content retrieval and close potential security gaps for IPv6 traffic.'"
