Network Security Concerns Small Businesses

Survey reveals over half of small businesses have concerns about IT network security.

As reported on NEBS, a recent study conducted by Angus Reid shows that fifty-four percent of small business owners have real concerns over IT network security. A major priority for the business owners is keeping their IT networks secure and many are unsure that current systems are safe. Primus Canada VP Jeff Lorenz, said that there were many options available for entrepreneurs when it came to keeping their data secure.


"'Clearly, small businesses' uneasiness about their company's IT security is an indicator of the need for not only better network supports, but education about additional IT security options as well,' said Lorenz. 'While traditional 'tried and true' tools such as anti-virus software and firewall systems are seen to be the obvious choices against compromised IT networks and hackers, there are other equally sound alternatives that are available to businesses.'"
