In order to provide the best experience to its 94 million customers, Verizon said it has begun two new network management practices. According to Ars Technica, the company has put into effect video compression and data throughput speed reduction for the small percentage of customers who use inordinate amounts of data.

"’Our proactive management of the Verizon Wireless network is designed to ensure that the remaining 95 percent of data customers aren't negatively affected by the inordinate data consumption of just a few users,’ the company wrote.”/p>
