Virgin Calls Migration to IPv6 an Internet Evolution

Exec say there is no need to worry about IPv4 to IPv6 migration.

According to Cable, Mark Heraghty, Virgin Media Business's managing director, has insisted the migration from IPv4 to IPv6 addresses is just a "new stage of evolution" for the internet. He compares it to the 1990’s when phones in the UK added an extra digit and insists its nothing to be concerned about for consumers of the cable broadband provider.

"Head of applications and services at Virgin Media Business, Matt McCloskey, has previously remarked: ‘Like Y2K, the impact of IPv6 has been widely exaggerated.’"
