Survey: Network Disruptions Challenges Confidence

Companies that suffered network disruption caused business impacts that exceeded expectations.

A new CDW survey of medium and large companies that suffered some disruption of service to their network found the disruptions caused business impacts that exceeded their expectations. This report on eChannel Line also says that the disruptions were challenging confidence in IT network resilience.

"82 percent of respondents in the CDW Business Continuity Straw Poll said that, before their most recent disruptions, they believed their IT resources were extremely or somewhat prepared to support local business operations effectively from a disruption.

"Many found, however, that was not the case. Fully 97 percent of all respondents said network disruptions had detrimental effects on their business over the past year. 30 percent of businesses said that at times, they were unable to operate at all due to a network disruption, and their location shut down completely."
