CA Technologies and Cisco announced they are expanding their relationship through collaborative technology integration, reports Information Management. Three CA system management tools, including the newly released CA Service Assurance and Service Automation solutions, now natively manage Cisco's Unified Computing System.

Roger Pilc, senior vp and general manager of the CA virtualization and assurance business unit, says the expanded partnership will enable "a more holistic approach" to managing racks of Unified Computing Blades as a pool of virtualized servers. The move provides increased flexibility for creating servers for business needs, says InformationWeek.

CA Technologies also announced three new products aimed at managing heterogeneous virtual machine environments. The tools, CA Virtual Assurance, CA Virtual Automation and CA Virtual Configuration, fit the companies shift to cloud computing and virtualization offerings, says Mike Vizard at CTO Edge.
