China Continues its Aggressive Supercomputing Strategy
China is building its third National Supercomputing Center at Hunan University in Changsha and it's expected to be completed by the end of 2011.
According to Computerworld, the new facility is part of China's aggressive supercomputing plans. The country has a goal of building at least one system capable of 50 to 100 petaflops no later than 2015 and plans to build its first exascale computing system between 2016 and 2020.
