Colt Unveils Prefab Data Centers

Colt says it can deliver large-scale pre-manufactured data center halls within four months.

Colt is looking to attract companies that want to increase their data center capacity without having to build a large-scale facility. The UK telecom and managed hosting provider claims it can supply a factory-built 500 square meter modular data center hall within four months, reports The Register.

The turnkey data center halls support 750 kilowatts of power and are designed to operate at a PUE rating of 1.21 at full load, according to Data Center Knowledge. Colt tests each modular data center at an offsite factory before transporting the hall to the project site.
