Google Rolls Out Cloud Printing on the Go
Google has begun expanding its Google Cloud Print service to mobile documents and Gmail for mobile.
The expansion of the print service is available to English-speaking users in the U.S. and works with most phones that support HTML5, including devices running iOS 3+ or Android 2.1+. According to Brighthand, Google's Cloud Print service works as follows:
- A printer must be connected to Google Cloud Print, which at the moment requires a PC running Windows, although Linux and Mac versions are said to be on the way.
- Users open a document with Google Docs or a message in Gmail.
- Select "print" from the dropdown menu.
- Retrieve document at the selected computer.
