Green Grid Issues Recommendations for PUE Measurement

The Green Grid announced that the PUE metric has now achieved industry alignment specific to recommendations on how to measure PUE in dedicated data center facilities.

The Green Grid, in conjunction with data center industry groups and U.S. government agencies, has released a white paper that recommends a specific process for measuring a data center's Power Usage Effectiveness. The aim of the task force's report is to bring consistency to the PUE metric and make it easier for different facilities to compare their results, according to ZDNet.

The task force also plans to issue a second version of its recommendations in the future for data centers that are part of mixed-use facilties like office buildings, PC World reports.
