HP is claiming that its networking solutions offer 50 percent better performance than Cisco at 30 to 50 percent of the cost. HP is even boasting that its products are 70 percent more energy efficient than Cisco's, according to DailyTech.

Much of this latest push by HP has been taking place at the Everything Channel's VAR500-CIO50 Conference in New York this week. It's likely Cisco doesn't agree with HP's claims, but it is clear that HP is taking the sector seriously. The company has gone so far as to recruit Cisco's long-time customers to carry its new networking product portfolio and disparage Cisco's supply chain issues, ChannelWeb reports.
