SGI introduced the Ice Cube Air, which is joining its Ice Cube modular data center product line, at the Gartner Data Center Conference in Las Vegas. Available immediately, the SGI Ice Cube Air is offered in three models, the smallest being an 8-foot long container that can hold up to 4 server racks and the largest being a pair of 20-foot containers that can hold up to 10 server racks a piece, eWeek reports.

The Ice Cube Air has a starting price of $99,000, can be operational within hours and can benefit companies by eliminating the need for HVAC as well as complex and costly connections, says TMCnet.com. By drawing in outside air for cooling, the Ice Cube Air is capable of achieving a PUE less than 1.06.
