SMBs Aggressively Adopting Cloud Computing Services

A new study has shown how smaller businesses are becoming more aggressive in their adoption of cloud computing services.

Research commissioned by social management security specialist Spiceworks found that cloud adoption is up among small and medium-sized businesses with the smallest of the bunch being the most aggressive. The report found that 14 percent of the respondents' companies were currently using the cloud and a further 10 percent had plans to use the cloud, according to Infosecurity.

The survey, which polled 1,500 IT professionals for 87 countries working at SMBs with fewer than 1,000 employees, discovered that when it came to utilizing cloud computing services, Latin and South America led the pack with 41 percent adopting the cloud. According to DatacenterDynamics, the region topped the Asia-Pacific region (35 percent), North America (24 percent and Europe (19 percent).
