Silver Peak Systems' Vice President of Product Management, Damon Ennis, is scheduled to participate on a panel discussion at the Interop Business Technology Conference New York 2011 being held Oct. 5-7 at Javits Convention Center in New York. As noted in the company's news release, independent analyst Jim Metzler of Ashton, Metzler and Associates will moderate the panel "What are the next steps for WAN optimization?" which begins at 11:30 a.m. ET on Oct. 5, 2011.

"The panel will examine the options customers have for acquiring and deploying WAN optimization, from branch offices, to data centers, to the cloud. Panelists will also debate whether or not the current generation of WAN optimization controllers (WOCs) can support massive file transfers between branch offices. The panelists will take opposing views and provide insight for plotting the best course of action.

"Ennis directs Silver Peak's product management and field engineering organization. He has more than 20 years experience building enterprise and service-provider networking equipment. Most recently, he served as senior director of systems engineering and chief technologist at CIENA. Prior to CIENA, Damon held senior management and technical roles at FORE Systems."
