BYOD! As a buzzword, it's everywhere, and as far as reality goes, it's getting there. But are enterprise BYOD policies keeping pace with adoption? The answer, according to an eWeek infographic that draws from recent Cisco, CTIA, and Checkpoint Software research, is, alarmingly, no. 90 percent of U.S. employees surveyed reported using their personal smartphones for work in the past year, but the percentage of U.S. companies who actually secure those smartphones, or have even implemented formal mobile policies, is much lower.

What are the consequences of unsecured mobiles on your enterprise network? From data exfiltration to network infiltration, threats abound, especially since mobile devices represent an exciting new vector for attackers to use. So before you decide to let employees bring their personal devices onto your network, make sure you've got the policies and security in place to keep your network and confidential data safe.
