The iPad was only able to survive a day before hackers were able to break into it and gain root access using an exploit in Safari, reports PCWorld.com. While jailbreaking will allow a user to put their own software on the device, they sacrifice warranty and OS updates.

The iPad, which was released over the weekend, toppled expectations. As we reported on our IT Business Edge site, the iPad's initial sales may have reached 700,000, which is more than double the amount of iPhones sold in its initial weekend.
