McAfee has released its 2011 Threat Predictions report, and there's a lot to be concerned about.

There's a bulls-eye on the platforms and services users are embracing the most, including Google's Android, Apple's iPhone, Foursquare, Google TV and the Mac OS X platform, according to Computer Business Review. Says McAfee Labs' Senior Vice President Vincent Weafer:

These platforms and services have become very popular in a short amount of time, and we're already seeing a significant increase in vulnerabilities, attacks and data loss.

Social media sites with URL-shortening services also will be targets for criminal activity, as will be location-based services and mobile devices. Authority Empire notes that McAfee expects application-controlled botnets to continue into 2011 with social media apps becoming more common.
