V3.co.uk reports that Oracle has released a critical patch for vulnerabilities in its Java platform.

The patch addresses 27 different vulnerabilities in both Java SE and Java for business. The update covers Windows, Solaris and Linux versions of the platforms. Oracle says that all 27 of the flaws could be remotely targeted and exploited without the need for user authentication.

It is recommended that users of both platforms install the update, as well as those running the JRE, JDK and SDK components.
