Solarwinds Acquires TriGeo Network Security Inc.

Network security software to be renamed SolarWinds Log and Event Manager.

Solarwinds has acquired TriGeo Network Security and says TriGeo's technology meets the needs of IT professionals tasked with managing network, systems and application performance and availability.This includes the handling of network security-related issues like user privileges and firewall rules. The new network security software will be called SolarWinds Log and Event Manager, according to Statesman.

"In a January interview after the Hyper9 acquisition, SolarWinds CEO Kevin Thompson said his company would consider making additional acquisitions to expand the company's offerings. ‘We believe we have the opportunity to make acquisitions the size of Hyper9 and integrate them quickly,’ he told the American-Statesman. ‘We've got money in our pocket, and we're going to look aggressively.’"
