Symantec to Offer Enhanced Protection for SMBs

Symantec Protection Suite Advanced Business Edition will protect endpoints, provide messaging security, and use content filtering at the mail gateway to prevent data loss.

In an effort to offer enhanced protection for small to medium-sized businesses, Symantec has launched a new offering that promises complete protection against internal and external threats, as well as business continuity features and improved manageability, V3.co.uk reports.

According to the company, Symantec Protection Suite Advanced Business Edition will protect endpoints, provide messaging security, and use content filtering at the mail gateway to prevent data loss.

Businesses will get early threat warnings and automatic backups to guard against zero-day threats from real-time security intelligence from the cloud-based Symantec Global Intelligence Network.

Says Francis deSouza, senior vice president of Symantec's Enterprise Security Group:

SMBs today are handling valuable information, and having the right information at the right time can mean the difference between success and going out of business.

The offering should be available later in the summer.
