LAS VEGAS - In the back corner of the Interop show here, Sandra Brown, president of the IPv4 Market Group, has a small booth with an important message: you can buy and sell IPv4 address space.

In a video interview with Brown, she explained what her company does and how it is able to reclaim and then help to re-assign IPv4 address space, working with the Regional Internet Registries (RIRs). The available free pool of IPv4 address space is nearing zero, but many organizations still need IPv4 addresses. On the other hand, some organizations have more IPv4 addresses than they need. Brown's goal is to help reclaim IPv4 addresses from those that don't need it and then help get them reassigned to those that do.

It's a growing market, and pricing per IPv4 address is in a state of constant flux.
