Nynex Upgrades to Offer TDMA and SCPC Within Single Network

The satellite service provider enhances offering across global customer base.

VT iDirect, Inc. (iDirect), a company of VT Systems, Inc. (VT Systems), has announced that Nynex has licensed iDirect's iDX 3.0 operating software to upgrade its entire global network with SCPC Return Channel and multi-channel demodulation capabilities. According to this MarketWatch release, Nynex's enhanced service offering will allow it to better address existing customer bandwidth requirements, while also helping differentiate its services from competitors to capture new customers.

"The upgrade enables Nynex to provide greater flexibility in bandwidth allocation by combining the advantages of TDMA and SCPC within a single network. Nynex has also expanded its coverage into South America by purchasing a 5IF hub to offer new services. iDirect is a world leader in satellite-based IP communications technology.

"Nynex will use its upgraded network infrastructure to provide leased capacity to Virtual Network Operator (VNO) customers in the oil and gas, military, GSM mobile, and satellite news gathering markets who do not own any telecommunications infrastructure."
