SonicWALL has announced a new Internet content filtering appliance with anti-spyware and anti-virus capabilities.

The CSM 2100 CF v 2.0 is designed to work in conjunction with existing third-party firewalls, and offers remote manageability through SonicWall's Global Management System software. The appliance is also compatible with SonicWall's ViewPoint product, for enhanced reporting capabilities.

Some of the features found in the appliance include anti-virus and anti-spyware scanning, integration with Active Directory, policy rules based on hostname or IP address, and a dynamic rating engine that offers users feedback on the safety of a given website. The appliance can also filter IM and P2P traffic.

According to the company, the CSM 2100 enables admins to manage access to specific Web sites deemed inappropriate for their organizations. The device also includes graphical reporting and analysis tools for more insight into network usage.

Pricing for the Content Security Manager 2100 CF v 2.0 starts at $2,400 including a one year 25-user subscription to SonicWALL's Premium Edition Content Filtering Service, Gateway Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware services. The new version will be available to all existing 1.0 version customers at no additional charge.
