As part of a larger "Just Right IT" effort to win the hearts and minds of small to medium-sized businesses, HP has launched the Proliant MicroServer, IT PRO reports. The entry-level server is being pushed as a low-cost alternative or complement to blade or server racks.

The low-power Proliant MicroServer has a starting price of $329 and can centralize operations and data over a small network, according to NetworkWorld. According to McLeod Glass, director of marketing in HP's Industry Standard Servers and Software Group, roughly 1.7 million businesses worldwide will purchase their first server over the next five years.
