IBM Acquires BigFix as Part of Smarter Data Center Vision
IBM plans to use the company's systems management software to enable a company to automatically deliver security patches and software updates to hundreds of thousands of personal computers across its network, says TechWorld.
According to the official press release:
BigFix software provides a single IT management platform that gives organizations visibility, control and automation across their computing endpoints – laptops, desktops and servers – to manage critical applications for systems lifecycle, vulnerability assessment, energy-efficient computing, and configuration and security compliance.
IBM plans to fold BigFix, which has approximately200 employees and 700 customers, into its Software Group
