ThinkGrid is making encryption available to its customers with cloud security fears. Available immediately, ThinkGrid Encryption uses 256-bit AES encryption to automatically secure customer data stored in ThinkGrid's platform, CRN UK reports. The service, based on Cryptzone's data leak prevention technology, is offered on a per-use basis through ThinkGrid's partners, according to SC Magazine UK.
Rob Lovell, CEO of ThinkGrid said:
Security is clearly the last remaining barrier to mainstream business adoption of the cloud but it's a problem that few, if any, cloud service providers are able to currently address.
Nonetheless, there are certain organisations that want these advantages but are limited by compliance regulations. Cloud encryption further enhances the broader security benefits of this IT model, particularly in high-risk areas such as remote working. Businesses no longer have to worry about lost or stolen devices as all applications and data reside in the cloud and are now fully encrypted.
