Qualys is promoting its QualysGuard vulnerability assessment product
by offering a week of free vulnerability scans. The company is making
the offer in the wake of recent CERT
advisories concerning IIS.
QualysGuard is a Web-based service that scans networks for vulnerabilities and provides reports on its findings. Qualys lists 24 targeted services, ranging from MS Front Page and SMB shares to SNMP and X Window.
According to Qualys, the product scans for over 300 applications and maintains a database of 1500 vulnerability signatures over 20 operating systems.
Microsoft has released a cumulative security patch, downloadable at http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS02-018.asp to address the vulnerabilities
