Christopher Allen Lewis, a member of a telephone hacking group known as Kryogeniks, has pleaded guilty to taking down Comcast's Web site in May 2008, Computerworld reports.

Lewis, along with two other men, used social-engineering techniques to get critical information over the phone, which they used to gain access to Comcast's Domain Name System account. They were able to disrupt Comcast's Web page for two days.

Lewis's plea to to one count of conspiracy to intentionally damage a protected computer system could lead to a five-year prison sentence and a $250,000 fine.
