Podcast: The Ash Cloud Doesn't Obscure the Benefits of Conferencing
The ash cloud that obscured Europe for weeks this spring had a silver lining, at least for companies that sell teleconferencing and telepresence equipment. A study performed by the research firm Coleman Parkes on behalf of HP found that executives in the UK, Germany and France were able to salvage about half of the meetings that were lost due to the cloud.
More broadly, Coleman Parkes found that more than half of senior executives think business travel must be toned down, and 43 percent see an increase in telepresence as a result.
Carl Weinschenk spoke to Darren Podrabsky, marketing manager for HP Halo, about the survey, telepresence and its increasingly deep relationship with unified communications.
