"AT&T is winning business from its European rivals as MNCs look further afield to secure revenue growth and maintain margins. "They're having to become more global," Andrew Edison, head of AT&T's EMEA business told Total Telecom recently, noting that European companies are increasingly expanding into new markets, particularly in Asia," writes TotalTelecom's Mary Lennighan.

"AT&T can cite recent major customer wins as evidence it is strengthening its position in Europe. In December the U.S. operator announced a 1,700-site, 60-country WAN deal with Germany's Linde Group," Lennighan writes.
