DENVER, April 7, 2010 – Qwest Communications (NYSE: Q) today introduced a new unified communications service platform that allows enterprise businesses, government agencies and educational institutions to merge traditional telephony networks with Internet Protocol (IP)-based data networks.

Qwest iQ Hosted Unified Communication Service (iQ HUCS) provides end users the benefits of integrating voice, e-mail and video services so they are accessible by landline phones, mobile phones, smart phones and computers. It also leverages Cisco multi-tenant call management that allows enterprises to utilize existing network elements while laying the foundation for unified communications capabilities. The solution also features an integrated operations system that allows customers to easily manage day-to-day administrative functions and gain operational cost efficiencies.

Under a recently signed agreement, Arizona State University (ASU) will be the first Qwest customer to adopt Qwest iQ HUCS. ASU will utilize the service platform across its four campuses to serve more than 70,000 students, faculty and staff.
