Verizon Launches Fiber-based VoIP Service

Digital voice is now an option for Verizon's FiOS customers.

"Verizon announced on Thursday all of its FioS regions . . . now offer two different ways to use the telephone," writes Delaware Online's Aaron Nathans.

"The new digital voice system uses Internet protocol technology to complete calls. That's different from its existing Freedom Essentials plan, which offers phone service using circuit switches," Nathans writes.
