"Skype’s adoption by Verizon Wireless is an interesting step in the evolution of VoIP over mobile." writes the Wall Street Journal's Paul Sharma.

"While Vodafone and Telefonica would like search engines such as Google and Yahoo to pay for network capacity, Vodafone’s U.S. partner Verizon seems to be going in the opposite direction," Sharma writes.

"This may look smart now, but will it turn out to actually embed a threat inside the carriers?"
