Cisco Launches Unified Communications Systems for SMBs: Cisco on Wednesday announced two new unified communications systems for small and midsize businesses (SMBs). The Cisco Unified Communications 300 Series is aimed at companies with between two and 24 employees, while the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Business Edition 3000 is tailored to firms with up to 300 users across 10 locations. Cisco also announced that it will make WebEx available to its partner resellers so that it can be integrated with unified communications offerings for SMB customers. 

Verizon to Offer Cloud-based Unified Communications: Verizon is getting set to offer its customers unified communications services that can include presence information, instant messaging, videoconferencing and fixed-mobile call handoffs through a Cisco Systems-based cloud infrastructure.

Siemens Puts Unified Communications in the Cloud: Siemens Enterprise Communications today rolled out a cloud-ready version of its unified communications platform alongside a new offering that allows IT organizations to outsource the management of wireless networks.

Cisco's Jabber Communications App Spans Platforms, Devices: Cisco is unveiling its Jabber application, which essentially will enable business users to communicate with others via whatever method they choose, and whatever device or platform they want. 

ADTRAN Launches NetVanta Unified Communications for Cloud Applications: ADTRAN, Inc., a leading supplier of converged access and unified business solutions, today announced that its NetVanta Unified Communications solutions can now be deployed in virtual environments utilizing VMware. The ability to operate in a virtualized environment will now allow partners and customers to use NetVanta Unified Communications in a broader variety of business and deployment scenarios. 

Global Crossing's SIP Trunking Solutions Selected to Support Unified Communications at Microsoft Technology Centers: Global Crossing, a leading IP solutions provider, has been selected to provide its Session Initiated Protocol (SIP) Trunking solution to support Microsoft Technology Centers (MTC) throughout the United States. These centers show enterprise customers how feature-rich unified communications services can benefit their businesses. SIP Trunking is the enabling technology that network providers rely on when establishing a broad range of unified communications tools, such as "presence" solutions. As a result of this affiliation, Global Crossing has become an MTC Alliance Service Partner. 

Acme Packet Announces New Solutions to Streamline Business Processes Using Live and Recorded IP Voice, Video and Unified Communications: Acme Packet, the leader in session delivery network solutions, today announced two new products – the Net-Net Interactive Session Recorder (ISR) and the Net-Net Application Session Controller (ASC). These additions expand the Net-Net product family, enabling enterprises, contact centers and service providers to record IP sessions and integrate live and recorded IP voice, video and unified communications into Web 2.0 business applications to ensure regulatory compliance, improve customer service, increase efficiency and reduce costs. 

ClearOne Introduces All-In-One Video Collaboration Solution for Users of Unified Communications and Web Conferencing: ClearOne today unveiled Collaborate, an all-in-one voice, video, and data collaboration console for organizations using unified communications software or Web services to handle voice, video and data communications.   

Mitel Extends Hosted Unified Communications Service: Mitel, a leading provider of unified communications software solutions, and Design Communications Inc (DCI), a premier provider of telecommunications systems and services, today announced that Mitel's cloud-based technology is being used to support a new hosted unified communications offering from DCI for the hospitality market. 

Broadvox Certifies Grandstream HD IP Phones on GO! VBX: Grandstream Networks, the leading manufacturer of IP voice/video telephony and video surveillance solutions, and Broadvox, an award-winning hosted unified communications-as-a-service provider and IP telephony industry pioneer since 2001, today jointly announced the interoperability and certification of Grandstream's newest GXP21xx/14xx series enterprise high-definition (HD) IP phones and the GXV3175 next-generation IP Multimedia Phone on Broadvox's GO!VBX- a hosted IP PBX platform.
