IBM Accelerates Social Business Adoption with New Mobile Software: IBM today announced new software designed to help organizations embrace social networking using the broadest range of mobile devices. With today's news, IBM is delivering its industry leading Connections social networking software for mobile devices. Customers can easily download the software from all major app stores including Android, Apple, and BlackBerry, and gain immediate access to blogs, employee data, status updates, wikis, as well as share files, videos and photos. 

NTT Com to Add UCaaS Plan, Expand SIP Trunking Area for its Unified Communications Services: NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) announced on August 30 that its Arcstar (TM) Unified Communications Services will introduce the UCaaS (Unified Communications as a Service) Plan to allow Arcstar (TM) Global IP-VPN customers to utilize multiple communication functions according to their situation and needs on a flexible cloud-basis. The new service will be gradually rolled out globally beginning August 31. At the same time, NTT Com will expand coverage of its SIP Trunking Plan, a high-quality, low-rate external dialing service initially released in Singapore this May, to 15 countries including Australia and the UK, and to around 30 countries by March 2012.

ConversePoint Plans Healthcare Unified Communications Offering Built on Qualcomm Technology: Chicago-based ConversePoint announced this week its plans to develop a communications platform for the healthcare industry.  The company offered few details about the platform, but says it will use Qualcomm technology and support multiple mobile communication standards, carriers, and devices. 

Glowpoint Announces Enhanced Cloud Managed Video Services for Cisco Customers: Glowpoint, Inc., a leading global provider of cloud managed video services, today announced three new key enhancements to its cloud managed video services portfolio for Cisco telepresence customers. All of the new enhancements are available as a fully hosted cloud service from Glowpoint.

Vodigo Ltd. Selects PROMYS PSA Software to Tackle Mid-Project Profitability and Resource Utilization: PROMYS, a leader in enterprise business software for IT Solution Providers, announced that it has been awarded a contract by Vodigo Ltd., a rapidly expanding regional IT Solution Provider specializing in Unified Communications. Cisco Announces Acquisition of Versly: Cisco today announced that it has acquired privately-held Versly. Based in San Francisco, Versly integrates collaboration capabilities via a plug-in into Microsoft Office applications, simplifying the way people work by enabling more effective collaboration around content in documents, spreadsheets, presentations and email.

Gartner Releases Magic Quadrant for Unified Communications: In 2011, unified communications portfolios have begun to mature with the emergence of integrated UC suites. This represents a shift from the previous years, when broad communication portfolios were not seamlessly integrated. Leaders maintain their positions, although challengers are emerging. 

Comstor Unveils Broad-Based Support for Cisco's Global Partner Network for TelePresence Distributor-as-Agent Initiative: Comstor, the business unit of Westcon Group dedicated to global distribution of Cisco products, today unveiled support for the Global Partner Network (GPN) for Cisco's TelePresence Distributor-as-Agent track. The GPN program allows customers to better utilize Cisco partner resources to service their global requirements.
