Polycom and HP Announce Broad Strategic Alliance: HP and Polycom, Inc., a global leader in unified communications (UC), announced they have entered into a definitive agreement under which Polycom will acquire the assets of HP's Visual Collaboration business, including the Halo Products and Managed Services business. In conjunction with this acquisition, HP and Polycom have agreed to establish a strategic relationship in which Polycom will serve as an exclusive partner to HP for telepresence and certain video UC solutions, including both resale and internal HP deployments. The two companies have also agreed to make available Polycom's video applications for HP's WebOS platform.

Unilava Advances with Hexa2 in Unified Communications and Collaboration: Unilava Corporation, a leading provider of diverse communication products and services to both business and residential customers, announced that the company has made further advancements with Hexa2 by collaborating on product integrations for unified communications targeting business customers.

Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace to Offer Unified Communication Solutions for SMB-Focused Channel Partners: Rapidly expanding its cloud services portfolio, the Services Division of Ingram Micro Inc. is pleased to announce new cloud-based unified communications and collaboration (UCC) offerings from Siemens Enterprise Communications targeted specifically for use by small and midsize businesses (SMBs).

Actiance Partners with Affigent to Expand Federal Market Presence: Actiance, enablers of the safe and compliant use of Unified Communications, collaboration and Web 2.0, announced a partnership with Affigent, LLC, a technology solutions provider specializing in global government deployments. Actiance will be the primary compliance solution for Unified Communications (UC) and social networks for Affigent, playing a key role in bridging existing solutions in the Affigent portfolio of products.

WorkSpace Communications Signs Agreement with Intel: WorkSpace Communications, a leading cloud provider of Unified Communications solutions announced an agreement with Intel to provide its complete suite of unified communications and collaboration tools as part of the standard Intel Hybrid Cloud solution offering. Intel AppUp for Small Business Service offers small businesses the combination of a locally hosted, or premise-based server interoperating with "cloud"-based software and services, all available on a subscription-based or pay-per-user basis. Businesses gain the benefits of scale, cost savings, reliability and others from the wide range of services available in the "cloud," along with the responsiveness and consistency of local applications, and the security of having their data on-site.

Zultys and Telanetix Certify Interoperability of MX Series IP PBX Systems and AccessLine SIP Trunking: Zultys, a premier provider of innovative unified communications solutions that empower businesses to collaborate effectively, and Telanetix, Inc., a leading communications solutions provider offering next-generation voice services and solutions to the business market, announced the interoperability certification of Zultys' advanced IP PBXs with Telanetix's AccessLine Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunking solution for businesses. The suite is built in collaboration with Cisco and features Cisco Unified Communications technology that is purpose-built for companies with less than 100 employees.

Microsoft To Split UC Competency in October: In one of the first major changes to the competency setup since fully launching the Microsoft Partner Network in November, Microsoft will split the Unified Communications competency into two this October. The new competencies will be a Messaging competency focused on Microsoft Exchange and a Communications competency focused on Microsoft Lync, according to a blog post Wednesday that unveiled the change.

Edgewater Networks Brings High-End Session Border Controller Functionality To Small and Mid-Sized Businesses: Edgewater Networks announced the addition of the EdgeMarc 250 Series Enterprise Session Border Controller to its family of EdgeMarc products.
