ShoreTel's Kevin Gavin on Complexity: [swf file="http://vid.itbe.com/ctoedge/shoretelsurveyaug24.mp3"]

ShoreTel has always thought that complexity was a big issue for IT staffs, according to Vice President of Marketing Kevin Gavin. He told Site Editor Carl Weinschenk that the company was surprised by just how concerned professionals are. He said that a ShoreTel survey released in August revealed that 81 percent hold reducing complexity as a key goal moving forward.

Indeed, the first and third most popular responses were, resepectively, increasing ease-of-use for end users and for the professional staff – with reliability sandwiched in between. This is an important finding, since complexity is sure to grow as vendors move more deeply in the inherently tricky world of UC.
