Cisco's unified communications (UC) efforts are vast and span Web conference, telepresence and voice solutions. One of the flagship tools for Cisco in recent years has become the Quad platform which provides UC and social networking tools.
Cisco's assets also include the WebEx Web conferencing and collaboration service that it acquired back in 2007 for $3.2 billion. They are also in process of expanding their presence-based UC system with the Cisco Jabber product portfolio.
On the telepresence side, Cisco's portfolio spans from its own high end devices to a new set of devices from Tandberg, a company Cisco acquired in 2010 for $3.3 billion.
