Amazon Plants Beanstalk for Developers

Amazon unveiled Elastic Beanstalk, a new free service designed to make it easier for application developers to take advantage of the company’s suite of cloud-based computing services, says Forbes. The platform-as-a-service (PaaS) tool automatically handles the deployment details like provisioning compute capacity, load-balancing between servers, autoscaling up and down, and monitoring the health of the application, according to Amazon.

Beanstalk will still grant developers the ability to control the entire stack and tweak the platform as they desire. Currently in a public beta, the initial release of Beanstalk is compatible with Java applications and is designed to be extended to work with additional programming languages, reports InfoWorld.
