Datapipe Transitions U.S. Data Centers to 100 Percent Renewable Energy

Managed hosting provider Datapipe announced this week that all its U.S.-based data centers are now powered by 100 percent renewable energy. The transition has made Datapipe one of 13 companies nationwide to be a member of the EPA’s Green Power Leadership Club, says Web Host Industry Review.

Datapipe has purchased renewable energy certificates equivalent to the power usage of its two facilities in California and New Jersey. The company’s purchase of 56 million kilowatt-hours of renewably generated energy goes toward neutralizing the 36,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide its facilities produce, says GreenBiz.com. Datapipe has also installed a 99 percent energy-efficient UPS, hot aisle containment to optimize HVAC performance and ultrasonic humidifiers to reduce energy use.
